Who we are
Tastemill is a service of Overly Dedicated Systems LLC, 1500 N Grant St, Ste N, Denver, CO 80203, USA. We control your personal data. To ask a question about this policy, send an email to [email protected].
The data we keep
- Account. Your email address. You sign in with a link that we send to that address. We do not keep a password.
- Billing. Your Stripe customer ID, your subscription IDs and your paid periods. We do not keep card data. Stripe keeps it.
- Characters. The words that you write about each Character, her name, and the Looks and sheets that we make of her.
- Screenshots. The Instagram screenshots that you upload, the image tiles that we cut from them, the result of our check of each tile, and the data that we make from the tiles (image vectors and Theme words).
- Taste. Your swipes, your reason chips, your board pins and the taste data that we make from them.
- Posts. The posts and captions that we make for you, and a cost row for each provider call that makes them.
- Logs. Sign-in logs, job logs, and a log of each time our staff opens one of your files.
- Cookies. A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and a cookie that keeps the look of the app that you chose. We use no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies.
Why we use it
We use your data to make your Characters and your weekly Drops, to learn your taste from your swipes, to bill you, to send you sign-in emails, to keep the service safe and to obey the law. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
Who gets your data
These companies process data for us. Each one gets only the data in this list.
- Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage). It keeps all the data in the list above, in the United States.
- DigitalOcean (hosting). Our web app and our worker run on its servers in the United States. They read your data from Supabase to do the work.
- Stripe (billing). It gets your email address, your plan and your payment details. Stripe keeps your card data, not us.
- Resend (email). It sends our sign-in emails. It gets your email address and the sign-in link.
- Anthropic (Claude AI models). It gets the words of your Characters, the text of your posts and captions, your reason chips, and images that we made (Looks, sheets and post images) to check and rank them.
- fal.ai (image models). It makes the images. It gets the text prompts, which contain the words of your Character, and reference images that we made (her sheet and pose guides). Some models run on fal.ai come from other makers, for example Google (Nano Banana). fal.ai sends the same prompt and images to that maker.
- TypeSafe (the Jev check models). It gets the words of a Character description to check them, and images that we made to check and rank them.
Your screenshots stay with us. Your uploaded screenshots and their tiles go to no AI provider. We check them and make their image vectors on our own servers. They stay in our Supabase storage. We never show them to other customers and never deliver them.
How long we keep your data
- While your plan is active, your posts stay in the app and you can download them.
- When you cancel, Drops continue to the end of the paid month or year. Then you have 30 days to download your posts. After the 30 days, downloads stop.
- When your plan ends, your Characters retire. We never give a Character of yours to another customer.
- We keep the rest of your data until you ask us to delete it. See Data deletion.
- We keep billing records for the time that tax law tells us.
- Our database backups keep a copy of your data for up to 7 days.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data. You can ask us to correct it or to delete it. Send an email to [email protected] from the email address of your account. If you live in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Adults only
Tastemill is for adults (18 or older). We do not knowingly keep data of a person under 18.
